2nd - Songs of Nick Drake
Nick Drake was first and foremost a guitarist as well as a singer-songwriter but also played piano, clarinet and saxophone. He was best known for his acoustic autumnal songs. Among those who admired his music are Kate Bush, Paul Weller and The Black Crowes.

9th - The Martin Harley Band - supported by Paul Bullen
Formed by Cardiff born Martin Harley, MHB have come a long way in the 5 years they have been playing together. They have sold over ten thousand albums and performed hundreds of gigs worldwide. Tonight they perform songs from new album 'Grow Your Own'.

16th - Cara Winter
Cara Winter is a twenty something songwriter from Cambridge who has built up a great local following. With influences from Kate Bush, Rickie Lee Jones and Bjork, Cara's music has been described as emotive, questioning, evocative, heart-felt and pictoral.

Each High Barn Folk Club evening features several outstanding musicians performing extended sets - a perfect showcase for the exciting variety of talent from the local folk scene. Bring an instrument and join in the session at the end.

18th - Double bill: Robert Brown and Paul Liddell
At only 25 Paul Liddell is a veteran of the acoustic music world, sitting on the boundaireis of acoustic rock, indie, folk and pop. He has played all over the UK and America. Robert Brown delivers a wealth of styles and emotions. He has headlined at the Cambridge Folk Festival and toured with Lulu.

23rd - Songs From The Blue House
Performing folk, country and bluegrass music with a slightly eccentric twist, the rapidly increasingly popular band captivate their audiences with wonderful spontanetiy and enthusiasm. New album 'Tree' was included in the BBC Suffolk top five albums of the year at the end of 2007.

Now concentrating on a jazz career following his recent retirement as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, Art has toured the world as a member of Stan Tracey's various groups, and now leads his own quartet.

A very special evening with Hong Kong's number one guitarist. Eugene made his first solo album with Michael Brecker, John Patitucci & Jack De Johnette and this exceptional musician has also performed with Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner and many other jazz greats.

4th - John Goldie
John Goldie has established himself as one of the premier exponents of solo acoustic guitar. He has toured extensively and collaborated with the likes of George Benson. John has been described as "one of the most talented guitarists to appear on the British jazz scene for a long time..." - Martin Taylor, Spirit of Django.

11th - AloneMe
We welcome back the wonderful acoustic pop act, AloneMe. Regulars here at High Barn, they have stunned many an audience with their interweaving vocals and beautiful harmonies. 12th - Ash Grunwald
A fusion of roots based blues, combined with pulsing beats, percussive groove and soulful vocals. Australian Ash Grunwald has won countless accolades and awards, including Album of the Year (2005 Australian Blues Awards) and finalist at the 2004 International Blues Perfomer of the Year.

24th - Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike
Valerie Smith has become an ambassador of bluegrass. Along with her band, Liberty Pike, she delights audiences with a mix of traditional and contemporary music. Tonight they are joined by Gareth Rowan and BJ Cole. BJ Cole is rated as the top European pedal steel guitarist and has played with Sting and Pink Floyd.

30th - Jazz with Mornington Lockett
Formely a member of the great Ronnie Scott Quintet/Sextet and a frequent performer with Stan Tracey, Claire Martin and Sax Appeal in particular, his firey playing with the New Jazz Couriers has established him as the leading tenor saxophonist of his generation. After Andy Lynham's fabulous success singing Robbie Williams covers, he returns with his musicians to give us his interpreation of Simon & Garfunkel's iconic '60s music and some of their later songs as individual artists.

18th - Gadjo
From all corners of the world they tumbled into Barcelona in 2003, and have been together ever since writing songs in French, Spanish and English. The band is an explosion of clarinets, saxophones, trombone, flute, melodica, accordion, voices, guitar, tuba, percussion, banjo and double bass. Presented by High Barn and Music-Zine.

27th - Jazz with Liz Fletcher
It's amazing that this stunning singer is not well known to the general public as she is among many of the top UK jazz musicians. A particular favourite of sax great Alan Barnes, she appears on his 'Seven Ages of Jazz' CD, as well as her own.

  25th - Midge Ure
High Barn and Music-Zine present Midge Ure, the well known Scottish musician and member of 'Ultravox' who rose from cult status to become one of the most popular acts of the early 80's. Midge Ure was also heavily involved in the Band Aid and Live Aid gigs along with Bob Geldoff among others.
